MIDVALE, Utah, July 12, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A moped driver is in extremely critical condition after colliding with a car near 480 W. Center St. in Midvale on Friday night.
Lt. Manfred Lassig, watch commander with the Unified Police Department, told Gephardt Daily the accident happened about 9:11 p.m. when the moped driver attempted to pass a car just as it moved into the left-hand turn lane.
The vehicles collided, gravely injuring the moped driver who suffered extensive head trauma.
The driver of the other vehicle was described as “shaken, but cooperating.”
Investigators from the Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team were called to the accident site and expected to be there throughout the night.

The accident happened roughly around 830 pm and it was on 7800 and locust street.
