SANDY, Utah, Oct. 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A mother and two toddlers were injured after being hit by a car in Sandy City Tuesday morning.
Sandy Police Sgt. Jason Nielsen told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred in the area of 1853 E. Sego Lily Drive and 911 calls began to come in at 9:12 a.m.
A woman was pushing two toddlers in a stroller across Sego Lily Drive in a crosswalk when they were hit by a vehicle traveling east, Nielsen said.
All three were transported to Alta View Hospital in Sandy by ground ambulance. The mother and the older child are in stable condition; the younger child was flown by Life Fight to Primary Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The exact ages of the children are not known at this time.
The female driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating with officials, Nielsen said.
An investigation into the incident is underway and a Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is on the scene of the crash. Nielsen said Sego Lily Drive is shut in both directions and is expected to reopen at approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday.
