SPRINGVILLE, Utah, June 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 20-year-old woman was lucky to escape with only minor injuries when her motorcycle crashed on Interstate 15 early Saturday night.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Tara Wahlberg told Gephardt Daily the accident happened at 6:53 p.m. at about 400 South (Milepost 260) on northbound I-15 in Springville.

The crash closed all four lanes of the freeway for about a half-hour, while crews moved everything over to the right lane. Wahlberg said the right lane should be cleared by 8 p.m.

No other vehicles were involved, and the cause of the incident is under investigation.

Wahlberg said the woman, who was the only person on the bike, was wearing a helmet and was evaluated at the scene. Her injuries were minor and she did not need to be transported to a hospital.
