PROVO CANYON, Utah, June 3, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon in Provo Canyon after he lost control of his vehicle and struck the center guardrail.
The incident happened at 2:21 p.m. near mile marker 16 on northbound U.S. 189. Two motorcycles appeared to be traveling together.
“For an unknown reason, one of the motorcycles lost control and collided with the center median guard rail,” says a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol.
“The driver and only occupant was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle continued approximately 200 yards up the hill before coming to rest.
“The 31-year old male driver sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Northbound traffic was closed for the investigation and cleanup.”
