The motorcycle collided with a car at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Main Street and Antelope Drive. The motorcyclist suffered severe leg wounds including a compound fracture.

Layton Police officer Trevor Barker applied a tourniquet in an attempt to slow the blood loss, but the 45-year-old rider later died at the University of Utah Hospital. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
