Motorcyclist Killed In Early Morning Crash On 700 East

Police are on the scene of a deadly motorcycle accident on 700 E. and 2400 South.
According to SLCPD, the motorcyclist was heading north at a high rate of speed around 3:45 a.m. when he slammed into the back of a car which was slowing for a red light.
Investigators say the 28-year-old victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle. He was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition and died a short while later.
Police say the victim was in his late twenties. His name has yet to be released.
Traffic on 700 E. to 2700 South was closed throughout the much of morning. The nearby off-ramps from Interstate 80 were also closed.
