SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah, March 20, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcycle rider died Tuesday night after colliding with an SUV in the area of Redwood Road and Crossroads Boulevard.
Saratoga Springs Police Cpl. Jason Ruch said the accident occurred at about 8:50 p.m. and involved the single motorcycle and the SUV driven by “a female in her mid-40s.”
“She was turning left here at Crossroads and, according to her, she did not see the motorcycle driving east. He collided with the side of her,” Ruch said.
Ruch said that as he understood it, the motorcyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet, but was wearing protective leathers, or at least a jacket.
Police officers and medical staff performed CPR and other life-saving measures, but the man passed away.
The SUV had substantial damage from the impact of the collision.
Ruch said the accident reconstruction team was on site and would be determining the speeds of the vehicles and other details of the crash.
He also noted that the nice weather brings out a lot of motorcycles.
“Motorcycle riders learn to be defensive. Wear all your gear,” he said. “If you’re driving, you need to look out for motorcycles. Everyone needs to drive defensively.”
