Tanker spills salt on Mountain View Corridor; traffic snarled for hours

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Oct. 10, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Drivers traveling on Mt. View Corridor ended up snarled in traffic Monday afternoon when a tanker rolled and spilled its load of salt.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, the accident occurred at about 11 a.m. at mile post 18, which is 5800 South.

The left southbound lane of the road was closed for hours until the salt could be cleaned up and the tanker righted.

There were no reports of serious injuries.
