SCOFIELD, Utah, Dec. 28, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — First responders from multiple agencies responded early Friday morning after a small car rolled about 400 feet down an embankment near Scofield.
Helper Fire was dispatched to milepost 9 on State Route 264, a statement from the department says. It was a single vehicle accident with a driver and passenger inside.
Utah Highway Patrol also responded, as did Carbon County Ambulance, Price City Fire, Price DPS Dispatch, Fairview Ambulance, Sanpete County Sheriff‘s Search and Rescue, Skyline Mine EMT’s, and Emery County Sheriff‘s Search and Rescue.
“We would like to thank all agencies involved for a job well done,” the Helper Fire statement says. “This rescue involved multiple skills and disciplines and it was successful because of the thousands of hours of combined training dedicated by all agencies which consisted of multiple volunteers.
“This crash is a good reminder to always be prepared with an emergency kit, blankets, food and water. You never know when you might need them.”
The condition of those rescued was not included in Helper Fire’s report.
