SUNDANCE, Utah, Nov. 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Multiple people were injured in a head-on collision on State Route 189 Friday afternoon in Provo Canyon.

The crash occurred at 4:14 p.m. near the State Route 92 turnoff, Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The driver of a westbound pick-up truck lost control of the vehicle on the snowy road and crossed into eastbound traffic, striking a passenger car head on.

UHP said the female driver of the passenger car suffered critical, but non-life-threatening injuries. Officials at first said two juvenile passengers in the car had minor injuries, and later amended that to three children, all of whom were transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The UHP is advising Utah drivers to exercise extreme caution while driving in winter conditions as some the first significant storms of the season reach the Wasatch Front.
