SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, May 27, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — South Salt Lake police asked residents to shelter in place and drivers to avoid the area of a SWAT operation Monday morning.
The incident was in the area of 3600 South and 300 East.
“There was a large gathering earlier this morning, and shots were fired,” says a SSLPD social media post issued at 9:02 a.m.
“South Salt Lake Police Officers and Unified SWAT team are on scene. Multiple people have been taken into custody. The scene is still active and the investigation is ongoing.”
“We are asking people residing in the immediate area to remain in their homes and all others to please avoid the area.”
According to reports from the scene, one or more K-9s were brought to the scene, and people who came out of the residence have been handcuffed.
