MIDVALE, Utah, Dec. 21 (Gephardt Daily) — What started as a two-car accident on Monday evening caused a chain reaction that ended in multiple crashes.

Four separate crashes involved nine vehicles, and 20 to 25 people were drivers or passengers in those vehicles. No serious injuries were reported.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Fawson said the accident, which happened at about 7 p.m. on northbound Interstate 15 at about 7200 South, started small and kept growing.

Some drivers and passengers reported neck pain, from possible whiplash, but no one required medical transport, he said.

Fawson said he expected traffic to be backed up for about 90 minutes after the original impact.
