OREM, UTAH – October 8, 2015 (Kurt Hansen, Gephardt Daily) – A Murray man who broke into an Orem home and stabbed the occupant during a fight has been arrested.
According to police reports, the suspect, identified as Joseph Condie, 36, tried to break into the victim’s home the night before. When the suspect, who the victim did not know prior to this incident, returned on Wednesday and entered the victim’s home, the suspect and the victim got into a physical altercation, reports the Herald Extra.
After the two separated, the victim noticed he’d been stabbed and drove himself to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center where he was treated for a single stab wound to his abdomen. He is reported to be in good condition.
Condie was later found at his home in Murray and was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail. He faces a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing justice.
According to documents, Condie has a lengthy criminal history.
