Murray Police Department posts lip sync challenge to James the Mormon, David Archuleta

MURRAY, Utah, Aug. 26, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Murray City Police Department has posted its version of the lip sync challenge.

The department lip syncs along to “Workin'” by James the Mormon featuring David Archuleta. Both James The Mormon and Archuleta are returned missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the song has become known as an “anthem for missionary work” according to MormonMusic.org. The Murray PD video was posted Friday and as of Sunday morning has had nearly 12,000 views.

Police departments from around the country have been challenging one another to lip sync battles this summer. Some of their videos have gone viral, such as the one showing the Norfolk (Virginia) Police Department’s rendition of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.”

Other police departments began posting in June, challenging one another to see who had the best routine.

Salt Lake City Police Department employees lip synced along to Miley Cyrus’ hit song “Wrecking Ball” (see below), while Weber County Sheriff’s Office employees lip synced to the county song “Homegrown” by the Zac Brown band (also below).
