National, Utah leaders pay tribute to Pres. Jimmy Carter, dead at 100

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 29, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah and national elected leaders are offering tributes to America’s 39th president, Jimmy Carter, who died Sunday at age 100.

They praised Carter for his service to his country, his deep faith, and his commitment to serving humanitarian causes as a private citizen, after his time in office, 1977 to 1981. Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.

Carter had spent the past two years in home hospice care.
