PARK CITY, Utah, Dec. 12, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A break in a natural gas line is blocking State Route 224, which runs between Interstate 18 and Park City.

“Traffic is blocked in both directions at MM 8 on Hwy 224 due to a natural gas leak,” a tweet from Park City Fire Department says.

“Dominion on scene, 2” gas line has been breached near the White Barn on Hwy 224,” a subsequent tweet, issued at about 1:30 p.m., says. “It is near a larger gas line causing mitigation to be more difficult. Hey 224 is expected to be closed for awhile.”

Update: Park City Fire tweeted at 2:13 a.m. that the northbound lane, heading away from Park City, has reopened, and that southbound lane, headed toward Park City, will be reopened as soon as Dominion Power completes repairs.

Police and fire vehicles have left the scene, the post says.
