SANDY, Utah, April 9, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Nearly 600 customers were without power after a truck hit a pole in Sandy on Sunday afternoon.

The truck hit the power pole at 285 E. 9800 South just after 4 p.m., leaving 587 Rocky Mountain Power customers without electricity, according to the company’s website.

A crew was dispatched, and power was restored at 11:18 p.m., according to the website. This was actually earlier than the company had first anticipated.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.

It’s not yet known what caused the accident and whether there were contributing factors such as distracted driving.
