BEAVER, Utah, July 2, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — New closure orders for the Little Twist Fire will go into effect at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Central Utah Interagency Fire announced Tuesday.

The closures, shown on the map below, will take effect in the Fishlake National Forest — Beaver Ranger District, and will remain in effect through Aug. 30 unless rescinded.

“Forest Road 137 (Kents Lake Road), along with LeBaron Campground and Reservoir, will be reopened to the public,” the latest news release says.

“Anderson Meadow Campground and Anderson Reservoir will remain temporarily closed to protect the safety of the public and provide for safe firefighting effects and access during the Little Twist Fire.

“Please drive slowly and be cautious of fire personnel and equipment on Kents Lake Road, and continue to move through the area so as not to impeded the fire operations.”

The fire now stands at 2,663 acres and 25% contained, the statement says. Personnel assigned to the fire number 254. The fire, about 4 miles southwest of Beaver, is hampered by steep and rugged terrain in remote areas.

Smoke may continue to be visible for several weeks from nearby areas including Interstate 15 and Interstate 70, and state roads 89 and 20.
