WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – April 1, 2015 – Gephardt Daily

The Mesa County, Colorado coroner’s office said Tuesday that Kelly Myers, the 18-year old Colorado teen whose body was found inside a suitcase, died of “mixed drug intoxication,” but that the manner of death are still undetermined.

Myers was reported missing from her Grand Junction, Colorado home in late December of 2014.  Her body was discovered inside a black suitcase on February 28th in the Cactus Park hiking area in Colorado, 22 miles south of Grand Junction.

Myers’ family had indications the 18-year-old planned to travel to Utah for a party in the Salt Lake Valley.  As part of the investigation into Myers’ disappearance, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a review of Myers’ social media accounts and identified the last logged IP address as the Country Inn and Suites in West Valley City, UT. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office then contacted WVCPD.

West Valley police investigators have named two persons of interest in this case, Eduardo Nasario De La Cruz, 30, and Raymond Cordova, 47. Both Delacruz and Cordova are in custody on unrelated charges.

WVCPD detectives are asking anyone with information about the Kelly Myers case to contact West Valley City Police at 801-840-4000.
