TAYLORSVILLE, UTAH – October 31, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) —  Police have now released the name of the 14-year-old girl who was hit and killed by a van while trick-or-treating in Taylorsville Saturday night.

She’s been identified as Victoria Hillman, a resident of Taylorsville and student at Bennion Jr. High.

According to Unified Police Department Precinct Chief Tracy Wyant, the teen was hit shortly after 7 p.m. while crossing the street with a group of friends near 5930 South and 2700 West.

Chief Wyant said Hillman was in a crosswalk heading east on 2700 West when she was hit by a southbound Honda Odyssey.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the woman driving the Honda remained at the accident site and cooperated fully with investigators. They say there was no evidence impairment was a factor in what they are now calling a tragic accident.

We’ll have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
