SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 10, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake County on Friday revealed five sites it is considering for a third homeless resource center.
Two locations are in South Salt Lake, and three are in West Valley City.
The sites are:
A) 1820 W. Printers Row (2300 S), West Valley City
B1) 2411 S. Winston St. (1070 W), West Valley City
B2) 2249 S. Winston St. (1070 W), West Valley City
C) 3091 S. Main St., South Salt Lake
D) 1144 W. 3300 South, South Salt Lake
The site announcement was made on a new website, www.homelessfacilitysite.org. Public feedback on the sites can be submitted to the committee through a link on this page.
During the 2017 Utah Legislature, which ended Thursday, lawmakers passed a bill to fund two new 200-bed homeless resource centers and a third in Salt Lake County, which could have between 200 and 300 beds. One of the five sites could be used the third center.
The bill also states that the state’s Homeless Coordinating Committee must chose a site by March 30 or lose the second half of the state’s $20 million in funding.
