NEW VIDEO: Fire Incinerates Semi In Spanish Fork Canyon

SPANISH FORK CANYON, Utah, April 13, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A semi truck hauling paper products caught fire Thursday morning in Spanish Fork Canyon, and incinerated on the spot, blocking morning traffic and bringing down nearby power lines.

No one was hurt in the incident, which officials suspect may have been caused by a brake problem with the semi.

The fire was reported at 3:38 a.m. near milepost 192 westbound. Fire fighters were unable to put out the flames until Rocky Mountain Power could turn off the fallen power lines.

The trailer structure that remained after the fire was out had an ashen, skeletal look to it, and sat low on the road.

SR-6 was fully opened reopened at 9:15 a.m.
