Ogden Man in Critical Condition After Rolling Semi and Being Ejected onto Freeway
WILLARD, UTAH – June 30, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – The Utah Highway Patrol assisted in an accident on I-15 Tuesday that involved a semi-truck that had rolled, causing the driver to be ejected onto the freeway.
According to investigators around 9:55 a.m. a man driving a Commercial Tire Inc service truck that was hauling two large tires and other equipment drifted into the median, traveled some distance then over-corrected causing the semi to roll.
The driver, a 28-year-old from North Ogden, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected, was airlifted to U. of U. in critical condition.
I-15 was closed from about 10:30 until noon and eventually traffic was redirected to the outside lane while UHP officers cleared the vehicle and investigated the crash.
No further information about the cause of the incident or the identification of the driver is available at this time.
