PLEASANT VIEW, Utah, Oct. 1, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two men are in critical condition after a crash at the intersection of 2700 North and U.S. Highway 89 in Pleasant View Sunday morning.

Pleasant View Police Chief Ryon Hadley told Gephardt Daily a dark-colored SUV travelling westbound on 2700 North and a southbound white passenger car on U.S. Highway 89 collided at the intersection at 10:46 a.m.

“The vehicles hit front end to front end, at a 90 degree angle,” Hadley said.

The two men in the white passenger car, both from Box Elder County, had to be extricated and are in critical condition. The 45-year-old male driver was flown to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden by AirMed; the 35-year-old male passenger was transported by ambulance to the same hospital.

The driver of the SUV, a 35-year-old man from North Ogden, was also taken to the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Utah Highway Patrol, Weber County Sheriff’s Office, North Ogden Police, Harrisville Police, North View Fire, Weber Fire District, Ogden Fire Department and Riverdale Fire Department assisted with the incident.

Hadley said the cause of the crash is under investigation, though witnesses reported the light was green for east-west drivers.
