WEST JORDAN, Utah, May 4, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — An off-duty officer with Unified Police got a surprise Wednesday morning after he found a man sitting on his back porch in West Jordan.
The officer, who has not been named, confronted the man at about 10:15 a.m. and the man took off running, said Sgt. Joe Monson, spokesman for West Jordan Police Department.
Monson said the off-duty officer pursued the man, and tried to take him into custody. The man was located near the home by a second Unified officer, and illegal drugs were found on him.
Monson said it does not appear that the man entered the home.
