SPRINGDALE, Utah, Aug. 13, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Zion National Park is considering adding a day-use fee for a Angels Landing permit lottery, and a campground fee for the Lava Point Campground in 2022, officials said Friday.

“The Angels Landing Permit would be required starting in March 2022, with lotteries in January, and day before,” said a Facebook post from the park. “It would be only for the chains section. Lottery would be conducted on Recreation.gov, and a $6 fee application fee for each group of up to six hikers to enter the lottery. If successful in the lottery, a $3 per person fee will be charged.”

Public comments on proposed changes to the amenity fees for the Lava Point Campground and day-use permit pilot on Angels Landing are being accepted from Aug. 13 through Sept. 12, on the NPS Planning, Environment, and Public Comment website here.
