EDEN, Utah, Aug. 17, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Weber County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man killed Thursday in Eden when the street sweeper he was driving crashed.

The victim was 38-year-old Justin Sheen, of Roy, officials say.

“The driver reportedly was driving down from Powder Mountain when he lost control and tried to ditch into the side of the mountain,” the sheriff’s statement says.

“His vehicle went up the mountain approximately 45 to 50 feet. One single male occupant was ejected and suffered massive head and body trauma.”

CPR was begun by bystanders, and first responders were sent to North Powder Mountain Road at 3:17 p.m.

Despite the efforts from our crews, bystanders and Air Care, the patient could not be saved,” the statement says. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”

Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle traveling fast, and speculated the brakes may have failed.
