CACHE COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 31, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol officials have identified a man they say died as a result of a single-vehicle accident near Bear Lake.

The deceased is Christian I Flores, of West Haven.

Flores, 23, was driving a red Ford F-150 on State Route 30 in Cache County, the UHP report says. The accident happened at 10:20 p.m. Thursday just east of mile post 113, near the shore of Bear Lake.

Flores, alone in his truck, was reported as driving west at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway on the right, then over-corrected to the left, rolling numerous times, the UHP report says.

Flores was wearing a seatbelt, but was killed in the rollover.

Flores had stopped at a Chevron station in Garden City in the hour before the crash, and had been called in for reckless driving by another motorist, the UHP report says. Officers were not available to respond to the motorist’s call because they were busy with a cattle truck rollover in Laketown Canyon.

Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the fatal crash.
