MURRAY, Utah, Feb. 20, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews responded to a structure fire Tuesday night in Murray, dealing with freezing weather as they battled the blaze.
Murray City Fire Capt. Matt Boulden said the fire was on the back side of the structure, at 4595 S. Cherry St. (440 West), which he said is an old house that was being used for storage.
Crews had to attack with a line around to the back to reach the flames.
“No one was inside, and there were no injuries,” Boulden said.
Approximately 18 firefighters were dispatched at about 7:20 p.m. and Boulden said it took about 15 minutes to get the blaze under control.
“With the cold snap, we’re also trying to keep people warm,” he added.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and it wasn’t known if it had started outside or if the source of the fire was inside.
Boulden said investigators had not yet determined the extent of damage or the estimated dollar amount.
