Officials investigating after shots fired from vehicle in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 19, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake police are investigating after officials were called to an area hospital for a gunshot wound victim soon after receiving multiple calls of shots fired from a vehicle.

The incident began in the area of 1500 S. Major St., which is between Main Street and State Street, just before 2:35 a.m. Sunday, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

“Multiple calls were received of a vehicle that drove by firing shots in the area,” the news release said. “Multiple shell casings were located. A short time later officers were called to a local hospital for a victim of a gunshot wound. The victim was shot in the foot in the area of the shots fired.”

At this time the investigation into the incident is ongoing and there is no description of the suspect or suspects.
