Officials seek witness tips after bus releases waste in Bryce Canyon parking area

BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Utah, Sept. 13, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The National Park Service is asking for tips from witnesses after sewage was apparently released from a tank in a bus parking lot of Bryce Canyon National Park.

The untreated waste was discovered at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, in the Inspiration Point bus parking area. The waste has since been cleaned up.

“It appears that a bus released their tank while parked,” a statement on the Bryce Canyon National Park Facebook page says.

“If you witnessed this or have any information please contact Bryce Canyon Law Enforcement Rangers at 435-834-4767.

“Should you see something like this happening in your National Parks, we encourage you to report it to an employee immediately so that it can be mitigated quickly.”
