PROVO, Utah, Nov. 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are warning residents of a scam involving Provo City Power.
“We are getting reports of customers getting called with a demand of payment and a threat of having their power turned off if payment wasn’t received,” Provo Police Department said in a Facebook post. “This is a scam! Provo will never call for payment.”
The number reported is 888-205-1333 but can also come across as a local Provo number, the post said.
“Please do not give out any information and hang up,” the post concluded.
