UTAH, Sept. 10, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — Weber County Sheriff’s officials are warning Utahns of a new scam doing the rounds after this week’s windstorm.

“Please be cautious of anyone coming up to you saying they can take your fallen trees away if you ‘decide now’ and ‘pay now,'” said a Facebook post from Weber County Sheriff’s Office. “We have seen people offer this ‘service’ and just drive away with the money offered.”

To ensure these companies are legitimate, officials recommend asking for their contractor’s license and always make checks out to the name on their license.

“Stay safe everyone!” the post said.
