OGDEN, Utah, Oct. 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man in his 50s died after being struck by a car in Ogden Saturday night.

The auto-pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of 3rd Street and Washington Boulevard just before 10:15 p.m., according to Ogden Police officials.

The man was attempting to cross Washington Boulevard, officials said, when a car heading north hit him. He was initially transported to an area hospital in critical condition, but passed away early Sunday morning.

The incident is under investigation at this time, officials said, but at this stage it appears the man was not in a crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with officials.

The victim has not been identified pending notification of family.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
