OGDEN, Utah, Aug. 31, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Ogden City police are asking the public for information on a cold-case homicide of a man who died of a gunshot wound Aug. 31, 2013, 11 years ago today.
At 1:20 a.m. that day, “Ogden Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in an Ogden neighborhood,” the police statement says.
“Officers arrived in the area and located Robert Soto, lying on the sidewalk on his back. Soto was deceased at the scene when officers arrived. Witnesses said they heard gunshots, car doors slam and vehicle(s) accelerate from the area. Soto had left a group of friends in a backyard and walked out front to the sidewalk. When Soto walked to the front of the houses, the shooting occurred.”
