OGDEN, Utah, July 11, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Ogden Police Department got lots of tips from Facebook users after posting a photo of a woman they say stole delivered packages off porches.
Now the department is turning back to social media again, this time for tips on where to find the suspect.
“Detectives received numerous tips from our Facebook community on the previous mail theft post,” said a statement posted Monday on the OPD Facebook page.
“An arrest warrant for mail theft has been issued. The suspect has been identified as Mercedes Contreras. Anyone with information please contact Detective Ramsey @801-629-8203.”
The original post, which the OPD put up June 16, featured two images photos caught on a surveillance camera in the 3300 block of Adams Avenue.
The full video reportedly showed the woman stealing packages from a porch.
