OGDEN, Utah, July 5, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for a man who stole 40 pounds of beef from an Ogden market.

Ogden Police said in a Facebook post detectives are asking for assistance in identifying the suspect who shoplifted from Rancho Market, at 905 26th St.

The post said on June 18 the suspect went to the meat counter and ordered 40 pounds of beef. After he received the meat, he ran from the store without paying and left the area in a blue SUV.

A person commenting on the Facebook thread was quick to dub the thief a “hamburglar,” a reference to a vintage McDonalds restaurant promotional character.

The suspect was wearing a black and white baseball cap, gray polo shirt, black sweatpants and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on this case should contact Det. Mark Ramsey at 801-629-8203.
