OGDEN, Utah, Feb. 6, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Ogden have released the name of a man attacked on Saturday, and the suspect in that victim’s death.

D.J. Parkinson, 28, was found lying in the grass in the 2200 block of Monroe Boulevard at about 9:50 p.m. that night, Feb. 2. Police reported to the scene after a passerby reported seeing the man, unresponsive, with significant injuries to his torso. Parkinson later died of his injuries.

“D.J. was taken to the hospital by responding medical personnel, where he succumbed to those injuries, and was pronounced dead,” the OCPD statement says.

“Ogden City Police detectives responded to the scene, and through the course of their investigation, determined that this incident was in fact a homicide.”

The Ogden City Police Department announced Wednesday on social media that the suspect wanted in the case is 18-year-old Xavier Soto. The statement did not release details on how Soto was identified as the suspect.

“The suspect’s whereabouts are unknown at this time,” the OCPD statement says.

“Anyone who was driving through the area that night on Monroe Boulevard, as well as anyone with information regarding Soto’s location, is encouraged to call Ogden City Police Detective Travis Kearl at 801-629-8029.”
