OGDEN, UTAH – September 7, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – The owner of a stolen truck spotted his vehicle on an Ogden street Monday afternoon, but before he could get it back, the truck was involved in a three car collision. An Ogden police spokesman says no one involved had life-threatening injuries, but five people were transported to local hospitals.

Investigators believe the truck was stolen from Washington Terrace. The owner and a friend saw it on an Ogden street Monday, chased after it, and the owner jumped into the bed of the truck while it was stopped at a red light.

The stolen truck driver, a juvenile, lost control of the vehicle on Green Junction approaching the 1000 block of Country Hills Drive and collided with two eastbound cars. The truck owner was ejected from the bed of the vehicle and he and the juvenile were taken to the hospital in stable condition. A 19-year-old man driving a Subaru Forrester had to be extracted from his vehicle and taken to the hospital in serious condition.

A woman and an eight-year-old child were in the third vehicle involved in the crash, a Jeep Wrangler,  and were also taken to the hospital.

This is a developing story and we will have more details as they become available.
