OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — An Ogden man has been booked into the Weber County jail after the robbery of a sandwich shop in Riverdale and a gas station in Roy, and the theft of a package off a porch in South Ogden.

Micah Manning, 36, is a suspect in all three cases.

He was charged on Dec. 6 with the Nov. 7 theft of a package on the porch of a South Ogden residence. The package contained $955 worth of LED Christmas lights and decorations. They were taken from the 4900 South block of Burch Creek Hollow, and the theft was recorded on the resident’s doorbell camera.

The victim posted the video on social media, and several people identified Manning as the suspect. Police tried to contact Manning, but were not immediately able to reach him, the probable cause statement says.

Manning is charged with robbery, a second-degree felony, in the robbery of a Subway in Riverdale on Nov. 17. When taken into custody last week, Manning told officers that he parked his car a short distance from the shop just before closing time, a probable cause statement says. He had prepared by going to Walmart and buying a BB gun, a bandana to cover his face, and gloves to cover tattoos on his left hand, he reportedly told officers.

The Subway employees were scared, and gave Manning about $100, then he fled, he told police, according to the statement.

Manning is charged with a second robbery last week, on Dec. 5. A probable cause statement says the suspect entered a Texaco station at 4395 S. 1900 West, demanded the female clerk give him the money in the cash register, then he fled on foot.

The Roy officer learned of several robberies performed in a similar style that also involved a car used by Manning. That car was located hours after the Texaco robbery at the Riverdale Walmart, and Manning was passed out inside, a probable cause statement says.

“Officer Jones with Riverdale Police Department spoke with Micah, and, post Mirada, Micah admitted to robbing the Texaco,” the probable cause statement says. A search warrant was served on the car, and officers found a large amount of money, clothing that appeared to match that worn by the Texaco suspect, and a BB gun.

Questioned about the package theft in South Ogden and shown the video, Manning told police “he was asked to steal the package,” the probable cause statement says. In the South Ogden case, Manning was charged with theft of items valued between $500 and $1,500, a class A misdemeanor.

Manning remains in Weber County Jail custody.
