OGDEN, Utah, Nov. 30, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Fire crews responded to a residential structure fire called in just after 4:30 a.m. Saturday, and found smoke coming from the eaves of the home.

A resident and a dog were able to exit the house safely prior to the arrival of crews from the Ogden City and South Ogden City fire departments.

The fire was contained to the attic area of the home, in the 2400 block of Pierce Avenue, Ogden, a statement from the Ogden City Fire Department says.

Eighteen firefighters responded, with two ladder trucks, two fire engines, one paramedic rescue, one ambulance, one battalion chief and one deputy fire marshal, the statement says.

Crews were able to rescue a cat still inside the house.

No one was injured, but the resident was displaced. Damage to the residence is estimated at $50,000.
