CEDAR CITY, Utah, Nov. 30, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — One person was found dead after Cedar City police responded to the scene of a vehicle fire on state Route 14.
Police were dispatched to the scene, near mile marker 1, at 12:03 a.m. Saturday.
“Cedar City Police Department was first on the scene,” says a news release the agency issued.
“The car was engulfed in flames. The first arriving officer immediately attempted to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. Before the fire extinguisher was out, Cedar City Fire Department arrived and attempted to put the fire out.
“The accident involved a single car and the single occupant is deceased. There is a continued investigation to confirm the identity of the victim.”
The Cedar City PD statement said “we appreciate the quick response and the assistance of Cedar City Fire Department, Utah Highway Patrol, Iron County Sheriff‘s Office and Gold Cross.”
