MAGNA, Utah, Dec. 1 2015 (Gephardt Daily) ─ A man killed in a three-car collision on SR-201 Monday morning has been identified.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce, 47-year-old Brian Syddell of West Jordan was killed when another vehicle traveling westbound near 9500 West on SR-201 at 7:30 a.m. lost control and struck the guard rail, coming to a rest facing east in the westbound lanes. At the same time, Syddell, who was traveling in the same direction, also lost control and ended up facing south across the westbound lanes.

The third vehicle, a small commercial box truck, was unable to avoid a collision and hit the drivers side of Syddell’s vehicle. Syddell died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Sydell leaves behind a wife and four boys. A GoFundMe account has been set to help the family by members of The International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 38. Syddell was headed to a work call at the time of the accident.
