Man Critically Injured in Centerville Single Vehicle Rollover Identified

CENTERVILLE, UTAH, August 14, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol said a single-vehicle rollover on Legacy Parkway this morning has left one person in extremely critical condition.

Sgt. Todd Royce of UHP said Brett Turek, 18, of Layton, was driving a green Chevrolet pickup was about a mile south of Parrish Lane in southbound lanes at around 7:20 a.m. when the vehicle drifted to the left into the median. He attempting to correct to the right but then over-corrected to the left and rolled in the median.

The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the northbound lanes.

The driver received very critical injuries and was transported by AirMed to the University Hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation and UHP have not indicated if they believe drugs or alcohol were a factor. It is unclear if the driver was wearing his seatbelt.
