SOUTH JORDAN, UTAH – August 11, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – One woman was seriously injured after running a red light and colliding with another car on Mountain View Corridor early Tuesday morning.

According to Sgt. Eric Hill, South Jordan Police, the woman did not see the light had turned red due to the sun shining directly into her eyes. “She was headed eastbound on Daybreak Parkway and ran through the red light causing her to collide with a vehicle traveling southbound on the Corridor,” said Hill. “The impact of the crash sent her car into and on top of a concrete barrier.”

Hill said the driver that caused the accident had to be extricated from her car and suffered serious head injuries and a broken arm. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

No other injuries were reported and Hill said everyone was wearing their seat belts which he believes in this case saved the driver’s life.
