Man suspected in murder of Orem mother, toddler son arrested in Hawaii

OREM, Utah, Oct. 30, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man accused of a double murder in Orem in September 2015 has been arrested in Hawaii, authorities said Monday.

Christopher Richard Poulson, 28, was arrested this weekend, according to the Utah County Attorney’s Office.

He was wanted in connection with the 2015 death of his then girlfriend, 23-year-old Emily Almiron and her 3-year-old son, Gabriel.

Poulson was charged Oct. 24 in 4th District Court with two counts of first-degree felony aggravated murder and one count of second-degree felony obstruction of justice. The offense date listed in the charges is Sept. 8, 2015.

On the day the mother and her son disappeared, Poulson purchased a shovel and work gloves, then turned of his cell phone, according to court documents.

Almiron has not been seen since, nor have her cell phone or bank accounts been used.
