OREM, Utah, Aug. 27, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Orem police and SWAT personnel are at an apartment complex on South Geneva Road as they investigate reports of shots fired earlier Tuesday.

Orem Police Lt. Trent Colledge said calls reporting the sound of gunshots were received at about 4:30 p.m. Officers responded and found shell casings in the area.

As they began collecting evidence and surveillance video, officers were able to narrow their search for a suspect or suspects to an apartment at Promenade Place Apartments, 867 S. Geneva Road.

Colledge told Gephardt Daily the apartment complex has several Utah Valley University students living there, but it is not exclusively student housing.

He said there have been no known injuries, and police are not yet aware of a motive for the shots fired.

At 9:45 p.m., Orem police and SWAT personnel began evacuating the first floor of the apartment complex, and a short while later two women were brought out in handcuffs.

This is a developing situation and Gephardt Daily will provide more information as more details become known.
