Police seek person of interest in homicide of Salt Lake City teen

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Police Department is requesting the public’s help to locate a man identified as a person of interest in a homicide that occurred in July.

Homicide detectives have identified Martin Antonio Cruz, 22, as a person of interest in the killing of Paris Gustin, 16, on July 5.

Gustin’s body was found inside a vehicle at 985 S. 1100 West after dispatchers received multiple calls of gunfire around 4 a.m. Investigators believe the teen may actually have been shot in the vicinity of 600 N. 1000 West, where detectives discovered numerous shell casings.

Cruz is described as Hispanic, 6-feet-1-inch tall, 158 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Police are asking anyone who may know the whereabouts of the suspect or who has any additional information about the Paris Gustin case to call 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips may be sent by text to 274637.
