PARK CITY, Utah, Aug. 26, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Parkland shooting survivors and activists Jaclyn Corin and David Hogg will speak in Park City next month, it was announced Monday.

The two will appear at the George S. & Dolores Dore Eccles Center Theater at 1750 Kearns Blvd. on Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $29 to $69.

The deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. on Feb. 14, 2018, took the lives of 17 people and 17 more were wounded.

Since then, students and former students have led marches across the country, staged walkouts, rallied young people to vote and organized the “March for Our Lives” campaign for gun control.

A news release from the Park City Institute said: “Both Hogg and Corin are survivors of the largest high school shooting in American history, at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. After losing friends, classmates and teachers, the students were mobilized into action, lobbying state government officials, and planning ‘March For Our Lives’—now one of the world’s largest youth-led movements. In an on-stage interview, the pair will share their insights on gun violence, social justice, civic engagement, voting and activism.”

The former Marjory Douglas student who confessed to killing 13 students and four faculty members is in jail. He faces the death penalty if convicted. His trial is likely to begin in early 2020.
