Parole fugitive in custody after officer-involved shooting in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct.1, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A parole fugitive is in custody Saturday evening after Salt Lake City police responded to a trespassing call, and an officer-involved shooting resulted.

The area of 1300 South from 300 West to West Temple Street has been closed to all traffic following the incident, which happened at about 5:35 p.m.

Salt Lake Police tweeted that no one was injured in the shooting.

The parole fugitive, who had a warrant out for his arrest, has not yet been identified.
